Meet our Head Chef
A modern approach to old time favourites
Stuart Hutchinson is Head Chef at The Waterside and has been part of the team since its opening in April 2010. Stuart is passionate about food and serious about flavour. He is particularly keen on provenance, seasonality and sustainability.
Stuart, aged 30, trained at Cambridge Regional College and has worked at a number of independent restaurants and hotels throughout the East of England. Stuart heads up a great kitchen team committed to serving exciting and inspiring dishes with a modern approach to old time favourites.

Some of his signature dishes include: -
- Oak smoked duck breast with duck confit & apple rillette, prune & apple dressing
- Seabass fillet, herb polenta, wilted spinach, yellow pepper dressing & cromer crab cake
- Rolled pork belly stuffed with black pudding, braised onion & apple, wilted spinach & a plum & port sauce
- Glazed lemon tart with strawberries in a basil syrup & clotted cream
The Waterside’s head chef is given the freedom to make the food he really loves and we’re proud to have him in the team.
